President Addresses SSD
Company Limited Press Conference
January 6, 2005, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
LVCC South Hall booth #31774. , Las Vegas, U.S
Nakagawa, President of SSD,
Good morning everyone, and happy New Year.
On behalf of everyone at SSD company limited and all our business partners
both here and in Japan, I want to thank you for joining us and I'd like
to give a special nod of acknowledgement to everyone here who has worked
tirelessly behind the scenes to make our big news possible.
We have four exciting announcements for you today.
We will be discussing our new XaviXGames products that you can see
here in the booth;
The launch of our XaviXHome product line;
The upcoming XaviX exhibit at Disney's epcot center;
As well as a very important strategic alliance.
To give you more information, I'd like to introduce our General Manager
in the U.S., Mr. Peter Newman.
Peter Newman, General Manager of SSD US,
Since launching our XaviXPORT system and our first three
titles - XaviXBOWLING XaviXBASEBALL and XaviXTENNIS - in the U.S. in
fall 2004, the response from customers has been phenomenal.
We're always looking to offer new titles that meet their ongoing needs
and interests.
Based on the growing success and demand for XaviX, we're broadening
our existing line of XaviXGames with two new titles that further showcase
the potential of our interactive technology - XaviXGOLF and XaviXBASSFISHING.
We designed XaviXGOLF with the golf enthusiast in mind. Players will
swing the wireless putter or driver to play a nine or 18-hole course,
and sensors embedded in the wireless golf tee detect the speed of
the club and determine where the golf ball lands on screen.
XaviXGOLF offers individual and multiple-player modes as well as a
choice of exhibition, tournament or 10-shot games which can be customized
by player.
The graphics are much improved from our first games and feature realistic
fairway views and putting greens.
It's a more mature product in feeling but one that we know has a significant
potential customer base.
XaviXBASSFISHING pays tribute to one of America's favorite pastimes,
and enables players to practice their cast in the comfort of their living
rooms.
Players will compete in various class levels and tournament modes
to land the biggest fish.
They can also feel the tension build when reeling in each fish with
the wireless fishing rod.
Like the original games, both new titles are compatible with the XaviXPORT
system and demonstrate how XaviX Technology enables users to interact
with their televisions in an entirely new way.
We expect both titles to hit store shelves in late spring 2005.
As Mr. Nakagawa indicated, we are also pleased to launch a new application
for XaviX Technology called the XaviXSCALE. This represents the first
offering of our XaviXHome line.
XaviXSCALE offers an interactive fitness and weight tracking system
that uses a combination of human interface sensor technologies to
track, analyze and transmit personal data wirelessly to a user's television
using the XaviXPORT.
Until now, most consumers in America have only come to identify XaviX
as an interactive video gaming system.
But at SSD, we have always known that XaviX Technology has so much
more potential, and this opens up the myriad of possibilities behind
our interactive platform.
XaviXSCALE enables families to take control of their health by tracking
and analyzing weight, body fat percentage and body mass index.
Users insert the family fitness manager system cartridge into the XaviXPORT,
program family members' names and then place the XaviXSCALE anywhere
in the house, and the system will automatically store and track personal
information for up to four family members for a full year.
Retailers may order the XaviXSCALE for delivery in summer 2005.
Our third announcement is the launch of a "xsports challenge"
exhibit at Disney's epcot center in Florida.
We hope this new showcase will bring as much joy to the child in you
as it does to all of us.
Our new 1,135 square-foot exhibit is scheduled to open in spring 2005,
and will enable visitors to experience the excitement and potential
of interactive technology through hands-on demonstrations of our interactive
sports games.
Our exhibit will be comprised of interactive stations equipped with
large-screen televisions and XaviXPORT consoles, and will give visitors
an opportunity to touch, see, feel and discover for themselves the
many future possibilities of interactive technology.
I'm sure you'll agree that there's no better or more captivating place
than at one of the world's greatest theme parks to share this experience
with new users.
And now, I'd like to turn the podium over to Mr. Nakagawa for our most
exciting news today.
Nakagawa, President of SSD,
I am so excited to explain why you are surrounded by all these images
of Jackie Chan throughout the SSD/XaviX booth!
It gives us great pleasure to announce a strategic alliance with world
renowned film star Jackie Chan to develop future interactive fitness
products and games that leverage SSD's XaviXPORT system technology.
Jackie himself with us today as his new venture becomes officially
recognized as the first international licensee of the XaviXPORT system.
While SSD has developed over 100 popular consumer products in Japan,
this represents the first international licensing arrangement we have
secured for the XaviXPORT, and we couldn't have asked for a better partner
to join with us in this important endeavor.
This alliance developed out of Jackie's personal vision to create
products which the entire family can enjoy together to promote fitness
and well-being.
Our shared goals and Jackie's international acclaim will undoubtedly
strengthen this alliance over time and will help to promote a successful
venter for Jackie and all of SSD.
Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in welcoming Mr. Michael Favish,
business development for JCX, Mr. Willie Chan of JC group, and the
world-renowned Mr. Jackie Chan!
